About the instructor
I left a $100K/year jobto teach AI the way it's actually built.
I'm Laxmi Kant Tiwari — IIT Kharagpur alumnus, startup founder, and the creator of KGP Talkie. After 10+ years building AI systems in industry and academia, I walked away from a comfortable career to do one thing full time: teach production-grade generative AI to anyone willing to write the code.

Why I walked away
The job was good. Six figures, interesting problems, a clear ladder. But every week I watched smart engineers struggle with the same gap: they could follow a tutorial, yet they couldn't ship. Nothing they found online taught the part that matters — what breaks at scale, what production actually demands, and how real AI products get built and sold.
I knew that gap personally. I had spent a decade on both sides of it — publishing research in academia and shipping systems in industry. I had founded a startup, taken it to a successful exit, and learned the hard way what separates a working demo from a product people pay for. That knowledge was too useful to keep inside one company.
So I left, and went all in on KGP Talkie. Today more than 200,000 learners use my tutorials, courses, and videos to make the same jump — from following along to shipping their own RAG systems, AI agents, and machine learning products.
Why learn from me
I ship production systems, then I teach them
Most GenAI courses stop at the demo. Mine start where the demo ends — deployment, evaluation, cost control, and the failure modes you only meet in production. RAG pipelines, multi-agent graphs, MCP servers, fine-tuned models: everything I teach has run in the real world first.
Founder, not just instructor
I built a startup, grew it, and sold it. I know what it takes to turn a model into a product that customers pay for — and I bake that thinking into every tutorial and course.
A decade across industry and academia
Ten-plus years split between research and engineering means I can explain why something works, not just how to copy the code. You get the theory exactly when you need it — and never as a substitute for working software.
Code-first, always free to start
Every concept comes with runnable code, real datasets, and honest output — including the errors. 90+ written tutorials and two YouTube channels are free. The paid courses exist for people who want the full structured path.
